In the original 151 Pokémon card set, there were always a few stand-outs from the group. Obviously, Charizard and Pikachu are a favorite of many. Then Gengar and Mewtwo have a pretty serious following as well. One that has always been regarded as not only a favorite, but one of the best though is Dragonite.
Dragonite has been argued as a legendary Pokémon since Pokémon’s release due to its incredibly high stats and power. Add in a little bit of magic charm and it’s easy to see why Dragonite is so popular.
Despite being in the original 151, Dragonite has continued to be released and appreciated in the Pokémon card community since its release over 25 years ago. So it seems only fair to give Dragonite a tribute here.
This article will be using the average raw values of sold Dragonite Pokémon cards, not their highest sold values. So if you happen to have one sitting around in a box or binder, this article should give you a reasonable idea of what it may be worth.
*Please note that this article was updated in May of 2026 and it’s possible the prices have fluctuated since then. That said, clicking the links will allow you to see what you can purchase the cards at the moment you look at them!*
Without further ado, Dragonite fans rejoice! Let’s jump in!
#20 – Dragonite [Reverse Holo] #43
Raw: ~$145 | PSA 10: ~$4,800
Coming in first on our list is the Reverse Holo version of the Dragonite from the unbelievably popular Expedition set.
The Expedition set had a few different versions of this card *cough spoiler alert*, but the reverse holo Dragonite still remains unbelievably cool. Add in the cartoon-style art and iconic e-reader strip down the side, and I’d say we started off this list pretty dang well.
#19 – Dragonite [Reverse Holo] #3
Raw: ~$175 | PSA 10: ~$3,850
Next up is the Reverse Holo Dragonite from the Delta Species set. While the Dragonite is pretty far down the list of expensive cards in the set, it still commands a respectable nearly $200 average sale.
If that is still a bit to pricey for you, there is a slightly cheaper regular holo version that might be worth picking up too.
#18 – Dragonite [1999-2000] #19
Raw: ~$180 | PSA 10: ~$2,350

Next up is actually a rare Australian print run of the Fossil Dragonite #19. The main difference between this and the regular Fossil version is that the Copyright is 1999-2000 rather than just 1999.
While this seems like a small difference, it does mean that it was far rarer and harder to collect. And unfortunately, that does mean it is also more expensive. There are some copies that occasionally make their way to eBay if you are trying to pick one up!
#17 – Light Dragonite #14
Raw: ~$185 | PSA 10: ~$2,300
Our next Dragonite is another vintage one, this time from the Neo Destiny set. To this day, this is the only Light Dragonite ever to be released, despite it coming out in 2002.
If you know about this set, then you likely know another card that is coming in further down the list…
#16 – Dragonite EX #90
Raw: ~$190 | PSA 10: ~$5,300
Coming in at #16 is the Dragonite EX from the Dragon set. While this card does still fall under the “e-reader” series, they weren’t quite as popular as some of the other sets released in this time.
Fans of this generation though will point out that the holo and reverse holo around the silver border on these cards are both unique and very cool looking and stand out next to some of the other e-reader cards.
As far as Dragonite cards go, I’d have to agree that this is a great Dragonite to add to a collection!
#15 – Dragonite #9 Expedition
Raw: ~$200 | PSA 10: ~$8,660
Speaking of e-reader Dragonites, the Dragonite from the Expedition set is a favorite of many, and it’s easy to see why. The art is incredibly cool and unique and the E-reader card sets are now some of the most expensive ever released.
If you have one already, know that it would not be a difficult card to sell. If you’re trying to pick one up, you can definitely run across them on eBay and otherwise. If you have a PSA 10 version, then congrats on having an $8,000+ Dragonite.
So if you’re a Dragonite collector, mark this one down as another must-have in your binder.
#14 – Dragonite #18/T
Raw: ~$205 | PSA 10: ~$420
If I’m being honest, I didn’t know about this card before I wrote this article. Now that I know about it though, it has made it onto my must-have list.
The Dragonite 18/T could actually only be acquired through the Pokémon Japanese Trainers Magazine. It is one of 24 other cards that could only be picked up through the magazine.
Unfortunately, it is the most expensive card of that group, so this Dragonite won’t come too cheaply. If you’re a Dragonite lover though, it is a must-have.
#13 – Mega Dragonite ex #250
Raw: ~$230 | PSA 10: ~$925
The Japanese Mega Dragonite from the Mega Dream set is the equivalent of the English version from the incredibly popular Ascended Heroes set.
While this is not yet added to the gold card article, it absolutely should be. They don’t get more gold than this!
If you like the card and are willing to pay a little more, just wait until we get a little further down the list…
#12 – Mega Dragonite ex #246
Raw: ~$240 | PSA 10: ~$625
Another Dragonite, another Japanese Mega Dream (Japanese version of Ascended Heroes) Dragonite.
Once again, there may or may not be a more expensive English version further down this list if you’re into that sort of thing. Otherwise. the artwork and popularity of the set quickly made this a must-have Dragonite.
While there is still price fluctuation within the set, it doesn’t seem to be a card that will get much cheaper than it is now.
#11 – Dragonite [1st Edition] #4
Raw: ~$260 | PSA 10: ~$18,700
The 1st Edition Dragonite from the Fossil set was the first Dragonite Pokémon card ever released. It is an unbelievably popular card and is going to be the hardest on the list to find in good condition.
Because Pokémon cards were originally played with more than collected upon original release, this Dragonite is one of the most expensive PSA 10 of everything on this list. If you want one, you’ll have to shell out ~$18,000+ for it!
If you want one but don’t want to spend that much money, you can grab a non 1st Edition for about $60-$120 and a non holo version for $10-$30.
#10 – Dark Dragonite [Reverse Holo] #15
Raw: ~$280 | PSA 10: ~$5,030

Next up on the list is the Dark Dragonite from the Team Rocket Returns set. Note that this version is the Reverse Holo with the “Team Rocket” stamp in the bottom right corner. There is a cheaper holo Dragonite without the stamp as well.
This set also has some incredibly popular other cards, such as a Zapdos and a few Gold Star Pokémon as well. Extra kudo’s if you find one with a swirl!
#9 – Dragonite [National Championships Staff] #2
Raw: ~$285 | PSA 10: ~$1,265
I was close to not putting this Dragonite on the list because it has so few sales every year. Because of that, tracking down a consistent price on it was not easy to do.
That being said, the pricing was consistent enough to put it at minimum at a respectable #9 on the list. The Dragonite National Championships Staff card was incredibly difficult to obtain and couldn’t be pulled from a regular pack, which is why it demands such a high price!
If you want a slightly cheaper version without the stamps, you can’t go wrong with the regular holo version of this Dragonite.
#8 – Dark Dragonite [1st Edition] #5
Raw: ~$310 | PSA 10: ~$13,550
Remember that Dragonite art I was talking about above? Tah-dah! Feast your eyes on the original.
This 1st Edition Team Rocket Dark Dragonite was the second Dragonite Pokémon card to ever be released, only behind the Fossil version. It has remained a favorite among collectors and is second in value in the Team Rocket set only to Dark Charizard.
If you like this card, once again there is both a non 1st edition and non holo version that you can pick up for less if you want something similar in your collection! If you feel like shelling out over $10k, the PSA 10 version might be for you.
#7 – Mega Dragonite ex #295
Raw: ~$315 | PSA 10: ~$2,150
Next up on the list is a much more modern Dragonite, this time from the Ascended Heroes set. Depending on when you are reading this article, it’s possible that the price has fluctuated greatly.
Despite any fluctuations, this card was an immediate hit out of the pack and commanded several hundred dollars even upon release!
While this won’t be the last Ascended Heroes Dragonite *cough spoiler alert*, this is absolutely one worth picking up for the collection!
#6 – Dragonite EX #98 – 20th Anniversary
Raw: ~$320 | PSA 10: ~$990
Coming in at #6 is the Japanese 20th Anniversary Dragonite EX, aka the CP6 Dragonite.
If you’ve seen the English version of this card, then you would have found that it costs around $50. So why is the Japanese version so expensive?
The reason the Japanese Dragonite EX so expensive is simply because the set it’s from wasn’t reprinted AT ALL. The English version got reprinted several times which means there were more of that card on the market. The Japanese version though? Very tough to get your hands on, which means very expensive.
In case you were wondering, the set this Dragonite is from also has one of the most expensive Pikachu’s you can own.
If you own this Dragonite, then a huge congrats to you!
#5 – Japanese Dragonite V #74
Raw: ~$350 | PSA 10: ~$675
Coming in at #5 is another modern one. The Japanese version of the Evolving Skies set (the Japanese Blue Sky Stream set) has raised this cards price incredibly quickly and hasn’t seemed to let off since then at all.
And as far as modern sets go, Evolving Skies (or Blue Sky Stream) is one of the most sought after of them all. So much like the Ascended Heroes Dragonite above, I wouldn’t go too long without grabbing this one as it seems it is only going to get more expensive.
If you prefer the English Dragonite V over the Japanese one? Keep scrolling…
#4 – Light Dragonite [1st Edition] #14
Raw: ~$365 | PSA 10: ~$4,660
The 1st Edition Light Dragonite comes from the Neo Destiny set released in 2002. The Neo Destiny set is another one of the most expensive Pokémon card sets ever released, and the price of the Light Dragonite certainly follows that.
The artwork on the card definitely leans towards the “cuter” side of Dragonite, but still has the general appeal and power that you would expect from Dragonite.
This card has held pretty stable on price for a few years now, so it’s not one you’ll have to jump on if it’s not in your collection yet. That being said, this card is already over 20 years old, so you’ll still have to shell out some cash if you want a nice one.
#3 – Dragonite V #192
Raw: ~$385 | PSA 10: ~$1,230
What did I tell you? Didn’t take long to find the English version from the incredibly popular Evolving Skies set.
Immediately upon release, the artwork from this Dragonite was a major hit. Sleepy Pokémon? Major hit.
Add in the rarity of this card and set and it sits at one of the top raw value Dragonite Pokémon cards ever released.
#2 – Dark Dragonite [Reverse Holo] #5
Raw: ~$445 | PSA 10: ~$26,000
The Reverse Holo Dark Dragonite from the Legendary collection set was an instant classic. The art was used on the Team Rocket set first but was re-wrapped in the famous Legendary Collection holo to make the card you see above.
This card won’t be easy or cheap to find, especially in good condition. Regardless, the fireworks holo from the Legendary collection set can be spotted and appreciated in any condition.
Because of the sensitivity of these cards upon printing and it being released over 20 years ago, this is the most expensive PSA 10 Dragonite on the list.
#1 – Mega Dragonite ex #290
Raw: ~$845 | PSA 10: ~$2,500
It may be a little surprising to some, but as of updating this article in May of 2026, the Mega Dragonite ex from the Ascended Heroes set is the most expensive raw Dragonite ever released (for now).
There is a lot of speculation around where this card ends up and how inflated the current cards are in Pokémon. Despite all of that, this particular Dragonite from the Ascended Heroes set will remain unbelievably popular and expensive well into the future.
#0.A – 1st Edition Dark Dragonite Holo Error
Raw: ~$1,540 | PSA 10: ~$5,000+

How can I give the top 10 Dragonite cards without throwing out a few random non-standard cards?
In case you weren’t aware. the 1st Edition Dark Dragonite has an error version in which the holographic card #5 has no holographic portion of the card at all. It can be easy to miss so check your non holo Dark Dragonite cards before doing anything with them!
And if you’re lucky enough to get a PSA 10 in one of these error cards? The last sold PSA 10 values are between $5,400-$12,000!
#0.B – Dragonite [Tekno] #149
Raw: ~$8,765 | PSA 10: ~?

This did not make the list because it’s not technically a Pokémon card. That being said, its incredible value was worth sharing for you Dragonite lovers out there.
Take note that there are other holo Topps versions of this card. The Tekno version though is the only one with incredible value. All others can be picked up for between $60-250.
